Mouse Activity

The Mouse activity enables the automation of mouse interactions with the active screen across any browser or desktop application. It allows users to simulate specific click types and cursor movements by defining precise coordinates or using dynamic variables.

Field Description Requirement
Action Specifies the type of mouse interaction to be performed. Required
X-Position Defines the horizontal coordinate on the X-axis for the action. Supports static values or variables. Optional
Y-Position Defines the vertical coordinate on the Y-axis for the action. Supports static values or variables. Optional
Result X position variable The name of the variable where the cursor's current horizontal coordinate will be stored. Only used when Action is POSITION. Optional
Result Y position variable The name of the variable where the cursor's current vertical coordinate will be stored. Only used when Action is POSITION. Optional

Action Types & Examples

LEFT_CLICK

  • Format: string
  • Example Result: "LEFT_CLICK"

RIGHT_CLICK

  • Format: string
  • Example Result: "RIGHT_CLICK"

DOUBLE_CLICK

  • Format: string
  • Example Result: "DOUBLE_CLICK"

MOVE

  • Format: string
  • Example Result: "MOVE"

POSITION

  • Format: string
  • Example Result: "POSITION"

Implementation Examples

Field Setup - Action: LEFT_CLICK - X-Position: 425 - Y-Position: 125

Execution Parameters - X-Position: ${xPos} - Y-Position: ${yPos}

Get Current Cursor Position - Action: POSITION - Result X position variable: currentX - Result Y position variable: currentY

Technical Notes

This activity interacts with the current screen resolution and coordinates. When using variables for X or Y positions, ensure they are formatted using the ${variableName} syntax. Because this activity performs actions at the OS level, the target application must be in the foreground to receive the mouse events correctly.

The POSITION action does not move the cursor or perform a click — it only reads the cursor's current on-screen coordinates into Result X position variable and Result Y position variable, similar to the coordinate readout shown by the application Inspector when locating an XPath.
