Fill Bookmark Activity
The Fill Bookmark activity writes a value directly into a named bookmark location within an opened Word document. This allows data to be inserted into predefined fields of a template document — such as a name or email address — without relying on find-and-replace text patterns.
| Field | Description | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Word name | The reference name of the Word file which has already been opened or created. | Required |
| Bookmark name | The name of the bookmark within the document where the value will be inserted. | Required |
| Bookmark value | The text or variable content to write into the specified bookmark. | Required |
Action Types & Examples
Bookmark Value Insertion
- Format: string
- Example Result: "John Doe"
Implementation Examples
Field Setup - Word name: ${templateDoc} - Bookmark name: Name - Bookmark value: John Doe
Execution Parameters - Bookmark name: Email - Bookmark value: ${customerEmail}
Technical Notes
The target bookmark must already exist in the Word template; the activity does not create new bookmarks. When a document contains multiple bookmarks to fill, use one Fill Bookmark activity per bookmark, each referencing the same
Word name.
